White is one of those colours that often has greater appeal on hot summer days offering a light colour that offers sophistication and simplicity to a summer wardrobe. It is also the colour of hygiene, sterility, cleanliness and efficiency so has even greater appeal in this COVID time.
I personally prefer warmer slightly off white to a pure white as I find it a bit too cold. Either way, it offers a freshness and useful neutral.
